International sanctions against the commission of technological crimes by terrorists on virtual platforms constitute one of the complex and emerging challenges in international law, requiring a precise analysis and evaluation of the existing legal capacities in this area. Given the increasing technological threats and the growing use of the internet and virtual platforms to commit terrorist crimes, the international community is seeking strategies to address these threats and limit the activities of terrorists on virtual platforms. In this context, economic, financial, and trade sanctions against individuals directly or indirectly involved in the commission of technological terrorist crimes are recognized as an effective tool to counter these threats. However, several legal challenges exist regarding international sanctions, including difficulties in identifying and accurately assessing the commission of technological crimes by terrorists, coordination among states, methods of enforcing sanctions, and ensuring the protection of human rights during the implementation of these sanctions. These issues must be addressed in the development and implementation of an effective and comprehensive legal framework. In this regard, international organizations such as the United Nations, the European Union, and other member states are working to establish the necessary rules and guidelines for the effective imposition of sanctions against individuals and terrorist groups involved in technological crimes on virtual platforms. However, challenges such as a lack of transparency, consistency, and coordination in enforcing these sanctions still persist, necessitating enhanced international cooperation and a revision of the existing legal structure.
